The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has on Tuesday 9th May 2023 certified Hon. Abdul Muniru Lansana to contest for the position of Member of Parliament (MP) in the June 24th, 2023 election under the ticket of the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP).
Following his nomination by the District Returning Officer, Larry Fangawa said that Hon. Lansana has submitted all required documents and that he has registered and paid all his bills and has given receipt of all other bills, and that on behalf of the ECSL declared him nominated pending any objection.
Hon. Abdul Minuru Lansana who was representing the people of Constituency 121 said he had served his people and now he is going back for re-election because he has been in the office for the past five years and he knows what he has done in his constituency.
That he came unopposed in his constituency and his people wants him to continue his good job for the second time.
Hon. Lansana expressed thanks to God for being renominated by his people and also thanked his party executive for giving him another opportunity to lead his people.
He said in his key interventions, he has done a lot of tangible developments for which 2021, 2022 IGR reports rated some of them as best 20 MPs.
That in the area of passing bills he has been making his inputs and has been a part of every debate in Parliament.
Hon. Lansana stated that during his tenure he has supplied football kits to the Ross Road Police Station, community football support, cash support to Masjid Ahalusuna for its construction in June 2019, material support to the construction of Masjid Thowba Coconut Firm among others.
