The Deputy Chairman of the main opposition APC party, Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh has told a group of APC supporters that they need the South-East in order to win elections.

He made this statement during his address to members and supporters of the party in the UK informing them that Charles Francis Margai has thrown his support for the APC.

“It has always been like that. APC will get the majority; but the decisive vote comes from the South-East,” he stated.

He said that in 2007 Charles Francis Margai was with the APC and has also decided to be with the APC again in 2023 and, that it is a plus to the party.

However, the statement made by the Deputy Chairman contradicts what the Flagbearer Aspirant, Dr. Samura Mathew-Wilson Kamara said when he compared Kono, which is a district to chiefdoms such as Gbokonlenkeh, Loko Masama and Sanda Tenraren.

Making the comparison, Dr. Samura Kamara said that Nobody should be afraid of Kono as Kono is not Sierra Leone.

He (Samura) pointed out that they used to have 9 seats in Kono but that they lost 8 of these seats in 2018 as they only secured 1 seat.
