After ending a successful provincial tour, Christian Aid engaged the media on Friday 24th February 2023 to update them about their findings and the reasons for such tour.

The Chairman of Christian Aid, Bishop Lord Sentamu, expressed thanks and appreciation to the media for standing with them before and after the tour.

He explained the usefulness of the media in information dissemination and the partnership they have established.

Bishop Sentamu pointed out that the heart of Christian Aid is one that every human being should copy as it is a real commitment. 

He stated that Christian Aid has had the cooperation with everyone they had worked with. He continued that when they went to the provinces in (Bayama) Pujehun district, the women in the community came to them singing and dancing, because they were elated in welcoming   them. He said he noticed that the people danced to the same tune as the people in northern part of Uganda.

He said this is what Christian Aid is all about; the Freedom and Liberty between Women and girls. He furthered that Christian Aid and its staff have been in Sierra Leone for over 35 years and has been creating the partnership.

He pointed out that Christian Aid has not been working alone but has been working with companies and NGOs. He said that wherever they go he reminds people about the upcoming elections informing them that high voter turnout will culminate for the right people to be voted for.

He stated that Sierra Leoneans should respect the results on Election Day.

He noted that higher turnout on Election Day will make Sierra Leone more democratic.

He concluded that Christian Aid in London will continue to support Christian Aid in Sierra Leone. He said they will be engaging in peace building ensuring that Sierra Leone continue to deep in consolidation peaceful forms of engagement in the Country. He noted that the GDP has shown that Sierra Leone has the highest deaths.

He expressed thanks to Christian, Muslim leaders, their partner organizations, communities, Government, members of the international Aid, community donors noting that it had been a real pleasure spending time with them.
