Sierra Leone’s governing football body has successfully completed nomination phase for this year’s electoral process on the 8th January 2021.

Popular football administrator and philanthropist, Rodney Michael will be contesting against four people including the incumbent Isha Johansen.

Considering it as destiny delayed but cannot be denied, leading contender to clinch the presidency of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Rodney Edmond Michael sailed through the nomination after meeting requirements set out by the body responsible.

Contacting the New Age after this process a close Aides of Mr. Michael including strategic media analysts expressed hope.

The close Aide who prefers condition of anonymity said Rodney Michael is more than determined to breathe life into Sierra Leone Football.

 “We are very much appreciative of the building consensus to elect Mr. Michael who has demonstrated beyond every reasonable doubt his penchant to ensure football roll in Sierra   Leone,’’ he said.

Football stakeholders need to come together to make the correct decision all in the name of the development of the game, he added.

He adds: “There is no better time than now to correct the wrongs and place Sierra Leone soccer at the height in which everyone will be proud of.”

“We have multitalented young people in Sierra Leone from every nook and cranny of the country and collectively as football stakeholders, we should ensure those talents are well tapped,’’ said the dynamic football analyst who is also a strong supporter to Rodney Michael. 

Sierra Leone, he added, has great laurels in football. The sustainability of these laurels should be utmost concern of every football loving fans, he maintained.

In addition to this, a grand plan for football will be instituted where football will be more industrialized in terms of infrastructure among others. He said football requires huge investment and that the management of funds will be a top priority of the Rodney Michael administration
