Nurse Remanded For Alleged Office Breaking

30 years old Regina Essen a Nurse made her first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on Three count charges to wit Office Breaking and Larceny contrary to Section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916, Malicious Damage contrary to Section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act of 1861 and threatening to burn a house  contrary to Section 50 of the Malicious Damage Act of 1861.

According to the particulars of offence on the 27th October 2023 at No. 16B Wilkinson Road in the Western Area of Freetown with intent to steal break and enter into the office of Royal Air Maroc and stole therein physical cash of Thirty One Thousand Nine Hundred and Twenty Five United States Dollars equivalent to Fifteen Thousand Three Hundred and Seventy Five Thousand Leones (NLe15,375), one HP computer laptop, two 23kg luggage all to the total sum of Eighty-Five Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty Leones (NLe85,867) property of Royal Air Marco.

On count two, the accused person on the above date and place maliciously damage five doors, three cupboards and seven CCTV cameras plus DVR all to the total sum of Seventy-Six Thousand Two Hundred and Eleven Leones (NLe76,211) property of Royal Air Maroc.

On count three the accused person threatened to burn the house at No.16B Wilkinson Road Freetown.

When the charges were read and explained to the accused person no plead was taken.

The Prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of Police Ibrahim S. Mansaray sought for a short adjournment date for him to get proper conference with his witness.

The accused person was unrepresented by a legal representative.

Main while, Magistrate Kekura Denied bail and remanded the accused person to the Female Correctional Facility in Freetown.

The matter was adjourned to the 29th February 2024.
